Smith's strike lifts Canaries

Korey Smith boosted Norwich's Coca-Cola League One promotion push with the winner in the 1-0 win at Wycombe.

Smith slotted home Wes Hoolahan's cut-back in the 77th minute to earn a victory which takes the Canaries up to second in the table.

Hartlepool earned a 2-1 win over Oldham in the only other game to go ahead in the division.

Andy Monkhouse crossed for Ritchie Jones to head Hartlepool in front after 32 minutes and added the second himself five minutes before the break.

But Peter Hartley was sent off seven minutes from time for an off-the-ball incident and Pawel Abbott pulled a goal back in the dying stages. Pools, though, withstood a late onslaught to earn victory.

Leyton Orient's clash with Yeovil and Walsall's game against Charlton fell victim to the freezing weather.
