A statement released by WWE on Monday confirmed that Hardy is now awaiting surgery to try and get hardy back to full health.

The company confirmed that Hardy has a torn rotator cuff and Hardy himself has confirmed that he has a torn labrum.

Clarifying the extent of the injury, the statement featured comments from WWE medical personnel as well as Hardy himself.

The statement never confirmed a potential return date or injury length for Hardy, but it did provide some speculation on his role during his rehabilitation.

Claiming that Hardy hasn't ruled out appearing on TV in a non- wrestling capacity, fans could have hope of still seeing the high flying superstar in the meantime.

Hardy claimed:

"It inspires me to think a lot more about what I can do other than the extreme stunts and still be entertaining."

Possibly meaning that Hardy will continue to appear on Monday nights during his injury spell, fans of the hardy's will be happy to see him.

Hardy's surgery is scheduled for October 2nd and fans will surely be hoping to see him back in action sooner rather than later.

A new partner?

Despite being injured, Jeff appeared on Monday's episode of RAW and saw his brother Matt form a unique partnership with Jason Jordan.

Jordan and Hardy were victorious over the Miztourage but it could now lead to an interesting series of events which sees Matt venture into a singles run on RAW.
