Cristiano Ronaldo took his legacy to new heights in Real Madrid’s 3-1 win against Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday.

The Portuguese superstar scored twice, taking his tally to 411 goals in 400 matches for Los Blancos.

Ronaldo was sorely missed by his teammates during his five-match ban but now that he’s back, there’s a sense that Real’s season is now about to truly kick on.

It was Gareth Bale who gave the visitors the lead in Germany with a superb volley from Dani Carvajal’s cross.

Ronaldo made it 2-0 soon after half-time when he converted from Bale’s cross before Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang pulled a goal back for Dortmund.

But Ronaldo secured all three points when he thumped the ball home 11 minutes from time.

The 32-year-old has now scored two or more goals in six of his last seven Champions League matches, which includes his brace against Juventus in last season’s final.

Real face Spurs next

Real followed up their win over APOEL with victory in Dortmund but they currently sit second in Group H behind Tottenham Hotspur.

The Premier League side, who also beat Dortmund, secured a 3-0 win in Cyprus thanks to Harry Kane’s hat-trick.

So it means the next two gameweeks - they host Spurs on October 17 before travelling to Wembley Stadium on November 1 - have an added importance.

Madrid are starting to impress

Zinedine Zidane’s side is slowly rounding into shape after an indifferent start to the La Liga season sees them sixth in the table, already seven points behind Barcelona.

But with Ronaldo now back, it would surprise nobody if Los Blancos went on a lengthy unbeaten run.

And you can bet that that little girl will be following them every step of the way.
