Derby boss Nigel Clough looks set to be without Lee Hendrie for the visit of Scunthorpe.

The midfielder strained his hamstring in last weekend's FA Cup tie against Millwall and is unlikely to feature until next weekend's trip to Peterborough.

But fellow midfielder Lee Croft has recovered from illness to put himself back in contention, while on-loan striker DJ Campbell is available after being ineligible to play in the FA Cup.

New loan signing Lee Johnson will be pushing for a starting role after coming off the bench to feature against the Lions, while Luke Varney is available after suspension.

Shaun Barker, who has missed the last seven games with a thigh problem, is hoping to play in the reserves next week. But defender Dean Leacock is unlikely to feature this month as he continues to battle against a knee injury.

Scunthorpe will welcome back top scorer Gary Hooper for the game.

The striker has missed the Iron's past three games with an ankle injury followed by a bout of flu but should feature against Nigel Clough's men.

Goalkeeper Joe Murphy should also be back in action after he sat out the FA Cup clash with Barnsley last Saturday with a shoulder injury, so Josh Lillis will drop to the bench.

Midfielder Grant McCann completes his two-match suspension following his red card against West Brom on December 28, while Andrew Wright is pushing for a recall after completing a ban last week.

Rob Jones is a doubt with the hamstring injury which he was substituted with at the weekend, while Niall Canavan is suffering from a knee problem.

Fellow midfield man Michael O'Connor has recovered from a virus which kept him out of the game against the Tykes but is now available for selection.
