It's looking as if the WWE is set to answer the prayers of the fans that want The Shield to reunite, as the events that unfolded on Monday Night RAW earlier this week suggested the seeds have officially been planted.

Ever since Seth Rollins stabbed both Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose in the back to side with The Authority, the trio has taken very different paths.

REUNION

They've all become WWE Champion at some point, while they've also feuded with each other. They've almost come back full circle as The Kingslayer and The Lunatic Fringe defeated Sheamus and Cesaro to become the new RAW tag team champions, while The Big Dog had been busy with John Cena.

Now that the Cena chapter is in the books for Reigns after his big win at No Mercy, it looks like he has his sights set on The Miz and the Intercontinental Championship and the talk of a Shield reunion has increased after the conclusion of The Miztourage's attack on Reigns.

WWE fans have largely been underwhelmed with rumours suggesting that The Shield will reunite at TLC to battle The Miztourage, as the majority feel a reunion should only take place or be saved for a massive threat in the WWE, such as The Club led by AJ Styles or Finn Balor.

If WWE chose to wait, even SAnitY from NXT would have been an interesting choice to lure The Shield to don the tactical vests again.

CHANGE OF PLANS?

However, according to Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet, a match between The Shield and The Miztourage hasn't been set in stone just yet, even though that's how it's looking on television.

In an update on the story on Twitter, Satin claimed that The Miztourage might only be the team that brings The Shield back, but won't have an actual match.

If that's the case, then it's likely that Reigns could end up battling The Miz for the Intercontinental Championship, especially since Brock Lesnar and the Universal Championship won't be on television for a while.

It's clear that WWE is building towards a Shield reunion at some point, and WWE fans might be happy if it's not wasted on The Miztourage, even if The Miz could do some incredible work in that feud.
