Although the Seattle Seahawks haven't had the best start to the 2017 NFL season with them sitting on a 2-2 record, they do have one potential breakout player they can be excited about for the future, and that's Chris Carson. However, those hopes may have received a damaging blow, as the rookie running back picked up a very nasty injury during the Seahawks' 46-18 win against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday night which could see him out for the rest of the season. After you see a still image of the moment which Carson picked up the injury, you can see why many people are thinking his rookie season and potential breakout year could very well be over.Carson managed to rack up 42 yards off 12 carries as well as three catches for 24 yards and zero touchdowns before he picked up his injury late in the fourth quarter of the game. The rookie running back's leg was air casted and he had to be carted off the field after it bent back in a distorted position and was trapped underneath a Colts player. It isn't very nice to look at if you're a squeamish person, so you have been warned.Once you see the image, however, you will understand why some believe he will be out for the rest of the season. Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said after the game that Carson has "a significant" ankle injury.

Carson entered the game with 166 yards on 37 carries on the season, but after this horrific and unfortunate injury, it looks like his season will be over. An MRI will confirm what his outlook will be for the rest of 2017.

It's difficult to be optimistic for the rookie running back for the rest of the season after this injury, so all we can do is hope he is able to make a speedy recovery.

In the meantime, it looks like Eddie Lacy and Thomas Rawls will battle it out once more for the starting position in the Seahawks backfield.
