Aston Villa are clear favourites to book a place in the Carling Cup final after a 1-0 semi-final first leg victory over Blackburn at Ewood Park.
James Milner's seventh goal of the season is all that separates the sides heading into the return at Villa Park next Wednesday, although Rovers will feel they should be heading into that game on level terms.
Villa dominated for 55 minutes and wasted numerous chances, although Blackburn striker Nikola Kalinic twice struck the left-hand post as Sam Allardyce's side eventually found their fighting spirit.
