Chris Eubank Jr won the second defence of IBO World Super Middleweight title against Turkish opponent Avni Yildirim in the World Boxing Super Series on Saturday night in stunning fashion.

The son of boxing legend Chris Eubank went into the bout in Stuttgart against an opponent that had not lost any of his previous 16 fights, while Eubank Jr hadn't, himself, in his previous seven.

However, ultimately it appeared the British fighter's 10 fight's worth of experience more than Yildirim was far too much for the Turk who was KOd within three rounds.

And that has now set up a semi-final bout against either George Groves or Jamie Cox, who go head-to-head next weekend.

Groves, a current world champion, comes up against the Wiltshire fighter who has won all 24 of his professional fights.

But, based on the stunning fashion in which Eubank Jr finished off Yildirim on Saturday night, facing either of the British fighters will not concern Brighton boy Eubank Jr.

Eubank Jr's stunning knockout of Yildirim

As can be seen in the video below, the 28-year-old was relentless and gave his 26-year-old opponent no chance of making his way through all 12 rounds of the fight.

And one minute and 58 seconds into round three, the contest was ended with a brutal knockout.

After the bout, Yildirim admitted, per The Telegraph: "It was not my day. I will come back. His speed was not what I was expecting."

But while the Turk was left stunned by Eubank's quality, the Brit outlined his opponent's flaws.

Super Middleweight champion reacts to win

"He (Yildirim) was a strong come-forward fighter," said Eubank Jr. "But the experience is not there for him. He was 16-0 but he has to work technically on his abilities to compete with a fighter like me."

But Eubank Jr will have to step up a level again for his next fight, regardless of whether he gets his favoured fight with George Groves or a bout against undefeated Jamie Cox.

However, Saturday evening's showing suggests there's plenty more to come from the son of a boxing legend.
