A former TNA Knockouts Champion could be signing with WWE soon.

The former TNA star is Madison Rayne, who began her wrestling career on the independent circuit by wrestling under the names Ashley Lane and Lexi Lane. She joined the all-female promotion Shimmer Women Athletes in 2007, where she was one half of the first-ever Shimmer Tag Team Champions, along with Nevaeh.

Fast forward to 2009, she signed with TNA and aligned herself with Angelina Love and Velvet Sky as part of the villainous The Beautiful People stable. Going into March of 2010, she along Von Erich and Sky won the TNA Knockouts Tag Team Championship, with the three defending the title under the Freebird Rule.

In April 2010, she won her first of five TNA Knockouts Championships. Also, she was the first wrestler to hold both titles simultaneously and has made appearances in Wrestlicious as Amber Lively.

TNA, which has had a few different names since being created in 2002, was rebranded to Impact Wrestling a few years ago. On the August 25, 2016 episode of Impact Wrestling on Pop TV, Rayne competed in five-way match against the champion Sienna, Marti Bell, Jade and Allie for the TNA Knockouts Championship, which was won by the latter.

One month later, Rayne was announced as a new member of TNA's creative team, replacing Christy Hemme, who left TNA earlier in April 2016. Since then, she served as a female color commentator during the Knockouts matches.

Moving to the April 6th, 2017 episode of Impact, Rayne slowly became a villainess once again and participated in a gauntlet match to become number one contender for Rosemary's Knockouts Championship, which was won by ODB. She decided to leave the professional wrestling promotion in July.

According to a report by PWInsider.com, the former TNA Knockouts Champion Madison Rayne has been at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida training this week.

Since her departure from TNA, there has been some speculation that WWE has been interested in signing her. Also, Serena Deeb and Austin Aries have both been seen at the WWE Performance Center recently.
