Many Premier League clubs released their squad photos this week ready for the 2018 calendars.Last season, Manchester United caused a storm by completely leaving out Bastian Schweinsteiger from the team photo, prompting reports that he’ll never play for the club again. The German did eventually force his way into Jose Mourinho’s squad towards the end of the season despite his absence of the team photo, though. This year, it’s Tottenham making headlines. They’ve left Danny Rose out of their 12 player calendar, resulting in reports linking him with United.Mauricio Pochettino even spoke about Rose’s absence in the calendar during his press conference on Friday."He came to see me and said 'Gaffer, why aren't I on the calendar?' I said you were in Central Park. It's not a big issue,” Pochettino said. While there was no-one missing from United’s squad photo this year, it was still trending on social media. Why?Because it looks as though Paul Pogba has been photoshopped into it.In fact, the whole squad looks a little weird but it was Pogba that drew the most attention on Twitter.
What is wrong with Pogba!?
Just check out the reaction:
Possible explanation
There might be an explanation, though.
Pogba is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury and there is a possibility that he was getting treatment when the photo was taken.
Other than that, we’re stumped as to why Pogba looks like a cardboard cut-out in the picture.
While Pogba may be in the squad photo, he won’t be with the squad for their trip to Liverpool on Saturday.
Pogba will be a big miss
And Gary Neville thinks the Frenchman will be a big miss for Mourinho’s side.
“I think Pogba is a big loss in a game like this,” Neville said.
“You need guts out there to play in central midfield, you get no space. Pogba has got the arrogance and confidence to take the ball.
“That’s my worry tomorrow with United in midfield, with Matic and Herrera. Have they got anyone to take the ball? You think you come here, you’ve got no time.
“Scholes used to take the ball, I think Pogba would take them. So it is a big loss, Pogba, make no mistake.”
