FIFA 18 has nearly been out for a month now and there will already be no shortage of broken controllers.

Gone are the weeks of debating player ratings, the twists and turns of The Journey and more - players are now knuckling down with games from career mode to FUT.

Whether it be lining up against Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on Ultimate Team, yet another one of those overpowered crosses or generally conceding a last minute winner - each new game certainly takes some getting used to.

It may take a good month or two to work out the best way to break down opponents, the items with that extra bit of skill and the way to guarantee victory over your mates.

Well, there would certainly be no way to impress quite like scoring straight from kick-off.

If the coin toss falls your way, then it can be the perfect opportunity to completely unsettle your adversary or hit back immediately from conceding.

Furthermore, it seems each FIFA instalment has held it's own secret method of scoring immediately from the re-start.

Sadly, the days of being able to master an instant long ball from midfield with a rapid striker isn't as fool-proof as it was in previous years. The key in FIFA 18 lies with abusing the features that are 'OP' or overpowered - namely passing and crossing.

And one YouTuber has established the formula for unlocking midfields and defences with just a few passes. Not immediately from kick-off, admittedly, but 10 seconds isn't half bad.

The formations recommended for the move are: 4-2-3-1 (wide), 4-2-3-1 (narrow), 4-4-2 and all other set-ups that allow for wingers.

Taking advantage of the fact you no longer need a teammate for kick-off, pass the ball back to your CAM and deliver a first touch pass to the centre midfielder on the side of the pitch you want to attack from.

Pass the ball along to your full-back, taking a touch and holding down L1/L2 to encourage your winger to make a darting run forward.

From then on, there are two variations, so check out the tutorial below:

So not only can you score directly from kick-off almost without fail but with some attractive football not riding on a glitch or anomaly.

Just make sure you have some suitably rapid wingers manning the flanks and if this becomes your go-to tactic then - for once - Andy Carroll might be the way forward up front.
