Bury boss Alan Knill will be able to call on midfielder Damien Allen for the home clash with Hereford.

Allen is edging closer to full fitness after a groin injury and returned to the bench in the 2-1 win against Bradford in midweek.

Defender Ryan Cresswell remains sidelined through injury but is also closing in on a return.

However, on-loan Leeds striker Tom Elliott has broken down in training on his return from a hamstring injury and will miss out.

Andy Bishop will remain sidelined for at least another fortnight as he continues his recovery from an operation to repair both abductor muscles.

Fellow frontman Danny Carlton is expected back in late January to early February as he recovers from a serious Achilles injury.

Richard Rose and Jamie Tolley have both recovered in time to be available for Hereford.

Defender Rose sustained an ankle injury during Tuesday's 1-1 draw against Crewe and had to be substituted after 53 minutes while midfielder Tolley also picked up a knock.

But both trained on Thursday and are expected to be involved at Gigg Lane, as are a handful of other unnamed players who reported various bumps and bruises after the encounter.

Ryan Green (hernia) and Lee Morris (knee) both missed out altogether and remain sidelined as the Bulls look to end a five-match winless streak in all competitions.

But it will not be easy against third-placed Bury who have picked up 10 points from a possible 12 in their last four games and last lost at home back in September.
