The Shield are one of the most beloved factions in WWE history, and WWE fans couldn't be happier that the trio of Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and Dean Ambrose have finally reunited. It's WWE's plans for the group down the road that some fans may not be okay with.

Reigns, Rollins, and Ambrose made their WWE main roster debut together at Survivor Series of 2012, interfering in a Triple Threat match for the WWE Championship. Then-champion CM Punk was defending his title against John Cena and Ryback, and The Shield would emerge to aid "The Cult Of Personality" in defending his strap.

After putting Ryback through an announce table with a Triple Powerbomb, Punk was able to win the match by pinning Cena for the win. It was later revealed that The Shield had been hired by Paul Heyman to help Punk out on several occasions.

The Shield would go on to prove to be a dominant force in Six Man Tag Team action, going on a lengthy undefeated streak before being handed their first loss by the team of Daniel Bryan, Kane, and John Cena on an episode of Monday Night RAW.

At one point each member of The Shield held a WWE title, with Reigns and Rollins holding the Tag Team Titles while Ambrose held the United States Championship. After they lost all of their belts The Shield slowly began to become fan favorites. They engaged in great multi-man feuds with the likes of The Wyatt Family and Evolution.

WWE fans were extremely disappointed when Seth Rollins betrayed Reigns and Ambrose the night after their victory over Evolution at Payback, hitting his brothers in the back with a chair in favor of joining The Authority.

Each of the three men would go on to have extremely successful singles runs, holding a WWE World Title each at least once. Recently; Reigns, Rollins, and Ambrose have reunited to reform The Shield and will be taking on The Miz, Sheamus, Cesaro, and Braun Strowman at TLC in a TLC match.

It's not known how long the reunion will last, however, a recent report by PWMania (via Sportskeeda) suggest that it could be leading into a feud for WrestleMania. The report indicates that The Shield reunion will end with Ambrose turning on Seth Rollins, turning Ambrose heel and setting up a match between the pair at WrestleMania 34.

Plans for WrestleMania are always changing, so it's quite possible that this storyline could never see the light of day.

What are your thoughts on the WWE possibly considering breaking up The Shield once again after their reunion has wrapped up? Is the WWE making a mistake in breaking up the faction once again? Or is it about time for Ambrose to turn back heel as his babyface run has been rather stale as of late? Have YOUR say in the comments section below, and the fourth episode of GiveMeSport’s WWE podcast is here!
