Cristiano Ronaldo has a strong love affair with the Champions League.

The Portuguese superstar has won the competition four times - once with Manchester United and three times with Real Madrid - and finished as the tournament’s top scorer on six occasions.

No player has scored more goals in Europe’s premier club cup competition than the 32-year-old. In 142 appearances, Ronaldo has netted a remarkable 109 goals.

He was looking to add to that tally against Tottenham this evening and almost broke the deadlock in the fifth minute when his header crashed back off Hugo Lloris’s near post.

Before kick-off, though, viewers noticed a rather peculiar but amusing moment from the four-time Ballon d’Or winner.

Video: Ronaldo sings along with CL anthem

As the camera panned along the teams, Ronaldo could clearly be seen singing along with the Champions League anthem. No, seriously.

Don’t believe us? Here’s the proof…

We've all done it

Let’s be honest: we’ve all done it at home at least once. Many of you reading this probably do it every time you watch a Champions League match.

But has any other player ever been brave enough to sing along with the famous tune before kick-off?
