It’s fair to say BT Sport had a pretty decent line-up of pundits watching Benfica vs Manchester United in the Champions League. The trio have all won the Champions League at least once during their career and are very much qualified to give their expert opinion on the upcoming United clash. While they might be best friends in the BT Sport studio, they were rivals on the pitch during their playing career. And Scholes may have accidentally shown some of that rivalry before the match kicked off. We’re not quite sure what Gerrard was talking about exactly but he tried making his point by saying: “For someone who hasn’t won the league…”Of course, United fans don’t need reminding that Gerrard never led Liverpool to the title and are often heard singing: “Have you ever seen Gerrard win the league?”But sitting next to the Liverpool legend was a man who has lifted the Premier League a crazy 11 times. And Scholes couldn’t quite contain his joy at Gerrard’s lack of league titles. The former midfielder can be seen smothering a snigger as Gerrard continued talking.Brutal.

Watch: Scholes laughs at Gerrard's lack of league titles

Take a look:

Twitter reacts

And Twitter couldn't stop laughing. Just look at the reaction:

Of course, if Gerrard saw Scholes laughing at his failure, he probably wouldn’t be too impressed.

Gerrard regrets not winning the league

The former Liverpool captain has often spoken of his regret at not helping his side win the title - especially after his slip against Chelsea during the 2013/14 season ultimately cost the team the league.

“Certainly not winning the Premier League will be a dent in that,” Gerrard has said previousl.

“There's nothing I can do about it now. That's certainly a regret I will go away with.”

Scholes might feel a bit bad for laughing at him now.
