Gerard Pique hasn't exactly had the finest season at Barcelona so far, that's for sure.

The Spaniard started on the wrong foot back in August with a nightmarish performance in the Spanish Super Cup with an own goal and tepid showing against Cristiano Ronaldo at the Nou Camp.

Then came the mother of all bad days at the office against Getafe in September in a first-half that saw him cautioned for a rugby tackle before nearly putting through his own net with his hand.

The visit of Olympiacos to the Nou Camp looked to pose a quiet evening for Pique, though.

The Greek champions are lingering in fifth place domestically and sit bottom of group D with not a single point to their name.

Nevertheless, the Catalans put in a disappointing effort in the first-half with an own goal proving the only difference between the sides before the break.

Remarkably, Barcelona have benefitted from five own goals this season with opposition players being their second top goal scorer in 2017-18.

The game has been thrown wide open after Pique continued his difficult run of form with one of the weirdest red cards you'll see all year.

Having already been booked for a foul earlier in the match, the 30-year-old was given a second yellow card for doubling Barcelona's lead with his arm. Check out the bizarre episode below:

Even more unexpected than the red card itself, however, was the reaction of two Barcelona fans on the television coverage.

Regardless of the fact their side had freshly been reduced to 10 men, the joy of appearing on the big screen was just too much with the pair breaking out into celebration.

Take a look:

Well that's one way to react to a red card, that's for sure.

At the time of writing, Barcelona are holding onto their lead at 1-0.
