It has only been just under two months since Floyd Mayweather's historic win against MMA champion Conor McGregor, but the American boxer has wet the appetite of boxing fans worldwide by hinting at a possible return to action. A video uploaded on social media by the veteran boxer shows him training in the gym with high intensity as he continues to keep himself in shape. Sending the internet into a frenzy, the clip shows Mayweather working the bag fueling speculation that a possible return to the ring might be imminent. Some are even convinced of some potential mouth-watering match-ups. JJ Lawrence posted on Twitter: "If the money was right, he'll fight anyone," while Lolo Mazuelos shared that Mayweather versus Gennady Golovkin would be a "dream fight".Several social media users further inquired about the 40-year-old's next opponent, whereas many were hoping to see a repeat match against McGregor. Mat Rasmussen threw in the question of a possible rematch in the MMA, before asking: "Name one person who won't buy it."Although, following the encounter with McGregor in August, Mayweather was quite adamant that it was his final appearance in the squared circle. Following the fight that took him to 50-0, he said: "This was my last fight tonight ladies and gentleman."Tonight I chose the right partner to dance with. Conor McGregor is a great champion, and Ireland we love you."I told you the fight would be blood, sweat and tears and that's what I gave you."I think we gave the fans what they wanted to see.

As you'd expect, Mayweather fans were delighted to see 'Money' back training again, with a lot of them all saying the same thing.

"I owed them for the (Manny) Pacquiao fight. I had to come straight ahead and give the fans a show. That's what I gave them."

So, was the training video just a tease? Fans across the globe will be wishing not.
