After his record-breaking £48 million transfer from Red Bull Leipzig was announced in August, Naby Keita insisted he would only be an “interested supporter” of Liverpool until he finally completes his move to Anfield on July 1, 2018.“My commitment to RBL remains absolute for the remainder of my time at the club,” he told Liverpool’s official website. “I have given my all every time I have worn the shirt – that will be the case until the final whistle, in my final appearance.“Having my future resolved means I can now focus on helping RBL achieve great things this season. Until I join my new club, next summer, I will remain an interested supporter from a distance.”Leipzig fans could have been forgiven for fearing Keita would end up showing less fight and determination during matches this season. Many players in the 22-year-old’s position would naturally find it difficult to remain 100 per cent committed, knowing that a mega-money transfer to a bigger club had already been finalised.

However, judging by Keita’s excellent performance in Leipzig’s 3-2 victory over Porto on Tuesday, it appears that his future move to Anfield hasn’t remotely affected his commitment levels.
