Nottingham Forest will be without on-loan defender Nicky Shorey for the visit of QPR.

The Aston Villa full-back, whose deal is set to expire before Saturday`s trip to Pride Park to face East Midlands rivals Derby, must serve a one-match suspension following his red card against his former club Reading earlier this month.

His absence could see midfielder Chris Cohen revert to left-back, although Reds boss Billy Davies could also use Chris Gunter as cover with James Perch filling in for him at right-back.

Defender Julian Bennett remains the only injury absentee as he continues his rehabilitation from knee surgery.

Victory for Forest would see them go level on points with Championship leaders Newcastle, who play 24 hours later when Crystal Palace visit St James` Park.

Nigel Quashie, Matt Hill, Rowan Vine and Lee Cook could all be added to the QPR squad.

Quashie is in line to make his second Rangers debut, almost 12 years since he left the club to join Forest, after joining on a free transfer from West Ham last week.

He will be joined by defender Hill, who has arrived on loan from Wolves until the end of the season.

Striker Vine is fit after a recent stomach operation and winger Cook could figure for the first time this campaign after a long lay-off following knee surgery.

Veteran winger Gareth Ainsworth is still missing with a calf problem and midfielders Martin Rowlands and Gavin Mahon are long-term absentees with knee injuries.
