Just over nine-years ago, a 16-year-old named Jack Wilshere made his debut for Arsenal.Wilshere had been making a name for himself in the Academy ranks, and after making his debut many tipped the youngster to be a world star. However, things have just not panned out for the Stevenage born man.Since making his debut in 2008, Wilshere has had numerous injury woes and thus his progress has been curtailed. He is now in his tenth season at Arsenal, but he has only made 161 appearances for the club, and has only contributed 12 goals. His career seemed to be spiralling out of control last year, and he was even forced to go out on loan to Bournemouth in search of first team football. After a somewhat disappointing spell in the south of England, Wilshere has failed to re-establish himself in an Arsenal side that is having major problems of their own.It has been a mighty fall from grace for the 25-year-old, but he was named in the starting line-up for Arsenal's Europa League game against Red Star Belgrade today. However, fans were left shocked and bemused when a BT Sports commentator made an outrageous claim about the 25-year-old.Stewart Robson, the commentator for today's Group H match-up on BT Sport, is clearly a fan of Wilshere. You can read what he said about him below:

Really!?

Paul Gascoigne is one of the greatest players that Enland have ever produced, and he proved time and time again what a magnificent footballer he was.

In contrast, while there is no denying his ability, Wilshere has spent much of his career on the sidelines and even when fit he has struggled to force his away into Arsenal's starting eleven.

Understandably, fans could not believe what they were hearing, and many posted their bemusement on twitter.
