Michy Batshuayi may not be viewed as Chelsea’s number one striker but boy has he scored some important goals for the club.

The Belgian netted the goal against West Brom that handed the Blues the Premier League title last season.

And in September, Batshuayi came off the bench to score the winner in Chelsea’s comeback victory over Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.

So Chelsea fans were delighted when the 24-year-old came off the bench while trailing Watford 2-1 in Saturday’s lunchtime kick-off.

Antonio Conte’s side were dire for most the match and deservedly found themselves 2-1 down when Roberto Pereyra scored for the Hornets shortly after half-time.

Chelsea should have found themselves further behind but Richarlison squandered two good opportunities to score.

And Watford were made to pay by Batshuayi, who scored twice as Chelsea eventually sealed a 4-2 win.

The first of his two goals came in the 71st minute, when Batshuayi got ahead of his marker to head home Pedro’s cross.

Cesar Azpilicueta made it 3-2 late on with another header before Batshuayi put the icing on the cake in the fifth minute of stoppage time.

Costal leaves comment on Batshuayi's Instagram post

Everyone knew that it wouldn’t take long for Batshuayi to react on social media and the tweets and Instagram post swiftly arrived after full-time.

And among the comments left on Batshuayi’s Instagram post was a comment from former Blues striker Diego Costa.

Costa, who returned to Atletico Madrid in September, left a brief message to congratulate his old teammate.

“⚽⚽ top Michi,” Costa wrote.

It’s nice to know that Costa is continuing to support Batshuayi, even after his ugly exit from Stamford Bridge.

Conte: I don't feel under pressure

The Blues were facing a fourth match without a win before Batshuayi helped turn things around, with questions being asked about Conte’s future.

But the Italian admitted afterwards that he doesn’t feel for his job at the moment.

"I must be honest. I feel a lot of pressure but not this type of pressure - if the club decide to sack me," Conte said, per Sky Sports.

"Honestly I will never be worried for this. Never. The pressure is I want for my players and to give satisfaction for my fans.

"I think our performance was a good performance because it is not simple to concede a goal in the last minute of the first half and to then go down in the first part of the second half.”

Conte may not be worried but he probably should be. Roman Abramovich doesn’t stand for anything less than exceptional at Stamford Bridge.
