Real Madrid and Cristiano Ronaldo have both made a sluggish start to the La Liga season and it's easy to imagine that their fortunes are entwined.

The Portuguese superstar has scored seven goals in 10 games this season, but only one of those has come in five La Liga appearances.

Ahead of their clash with Eibar on Sunday, boss Zinedine Zidane said he wasn't worried about his star man's dry run in La Liga.

"There's no need to worry if Cristiano does not score, the important thing is that he has chances," Zidane told reporters.

"Cristiano is the best player of his generation. He makes the differences in key matches and he deserves all the prizes he has won.

"The goals will come back little by little. We lacked fluency in this game but the important thing is that we have won and kept the clean sheet."

Unfortunately, Ronaldo didn't find the net against Eibar either and for a man who has a record of 413 goals in 404 games for Los Blancos (yes, you read correctly), every game without a goal is frustrating.

The 32-year-old was trying to influence the game in other ways at the Bernabeu, but several Twitter users took great joy in one of his failings.

As you can see from the clip below, the former Manchester United great attempted to cut in from the left-hand side, but instead of cutting across the defender, he slipped and fell.

Yes, even Ronaldo can fall sometimes, guys!

Only earlier this month, Ronaldo explained why he does less skills at Madrid than his explosive days at Old Trafford.

"In a game the most important thing is to win, and goals helps to win," said Ronaldo in an interview with freestyler Touzani.

"You can mix - first goals, and after tricks and assists after. What the people want is goals, so I try to score goals.

"I still do it (skills), not the same as at Manchester, but I still do it. Now I prefer goals, am focused more on goals. Skills comes third."

If he needed another reason to stop doing skills, the clip against Eibar will serve as a reminder to him until he retires!
