Taylor ends Lincoln run: Match Review

A quickfire goal by Cleveland Taylor ended Lincoln's three-game winning streak and clinched Burton's first Football League double as the Brewers ran out 1-0 winners.

Burton rocked the visitors by sweeping into the lead after just 54 seconds when the on-loan Brentford winger followed up his late winner at Torquay on Saturday with a blistering 15-yard volley from a Tom Parkes cross.

The Brewers controlled much of the first half and were unlucky not to double their lead when Shaun Harrad fired against a post from 15 yards in the 38th minute.

However, the woodwork came to Burton's rescue at the end of the first half when Joe Anderson's 25-yard free-kick hit the inside of the post but stayed out.

Lincoln dominated the second half but lacked the cutting edge to unlock a resolute Burton defence.

The nearest the Imps came to an equaliser came deep into injury when Albion keeper Artur Krysiak instinctively stuck out a foot to keep out Chris Herd's six-yard shot.
