For the first time since his victory over the Monster Amongst Men, Universal Champion Brock Lesnar has returned to Monday Night RAW.

Lesnar was last seen at the No Mercy PPV in which he overcame arguably his biggest challenge of the year to defeat Strowman.

Challenge accepted

Lesnar was absent for the build up to Sunday's TLC event but he has returned ahead of November's Survivor Series PPV.

However Lesnar was not back on RAW to try and find a new challenger for his Universal Championship, he had a challenge to respond to.

Last week on Smackdown Live, WWE Champion Jinder Mahal laid down the challenge to Lesnar for a Champion vs Champion match at Survivor Series.

Lesnar and his advocate Paul Heyman returned to RAW to address the challenge of the Modern Day Maharaja.

Not only was the challenge accepted by Lesnar, but Heyman would embark on one of his now famous rants in which he mocked the thought of Mahal calling out Lesnar.

Admitting that Mahal will be Lesnar's first opponent this year where that he doesn't respect, Heyman laid the verbal smackdown on the WWE Champion.

The Champion vs Champion clash is now set for Survivor Series and will likely be the main event of a night where RAW and Smackdown will go head to head.

Battle lines drawn

The battle lines between Smackdown Live and RAW were well and truly drawn on Monday night when RAW General Manager Kurt Angle confirmed several different inter promotional matches for Survivor Series.

Angle confirmed that there will be four different Champion vs Champion matches including the Tag Team and Women's Champions from each show colliding.

Intercontinental Champion the Miz will clash with the United States Champion Baron Corbin and Mahal vs Lesnar makes it four Champion vs Champion contests.

Angle also confirmed that there will be two five-on-five traditional Survivor Series matches featuring a Mens and Womens team from each show.

If Angle didn't already establish the battle lines at the start of the show, they were well and truly revealed during RAW's climax in which Smackdown invaded the show.

Led by their Commissioner Shane McMahon, the entire Smackdown Live roster stormed the backstage area and ambushed every RAW superstar they saw.

Those ambushed included Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose, both members of Titus Worldwide and even four members of the Women's division.

The build up to Survivor Series has gotten off to a great start and it will be interesting to see how the RAW superstars react to Smackdown's invasion.
