Yeovil expect to hand a debut to midfielder Owain Tudur Jones in the home League One game against Huddersfield.

Boss Terry Skiverton swooped to sign the Wales midfielder on loan from leaders Norwich this week and he is expected to go straight into the squad.

But their hopes of signing Arron Davies have been dashed after they were told the registration cannot proceed as it would be in contravention of FIFA regulations.

Both the Football Association and Football League pointed out an individual may only play for two clubs in any one season where he has been on contract or standard loan.

The 25-year-old winger, who is a free agent, has already appeared for Nottingham Forest and Brighton in competitive matches this season and cannot therefore complete his move back to Huish Park.

Yeovil beat Exeter 2-1 at home last Saturday but lost for a third time in a row on their travels when they were beaten 2-1 at Tranmere on Tuesday.

Skiverton is again set to reshuffle his starting line-up.

At Tranmere he recalled Nathan Smith and Kieran Murtagh to midfield, with Ryan Mason and Jon Obika starting on the substitutes' bench. Both were later introduced as substitutes.

Huddersfield's new signings Krystian Pearce, Neal Trotman, Dean Heffernan and Nathan Eccleston all hope to be included in the squad.

Pearce, signed on a short-term deal from Birmingham until the end of the season, was an unused substitute in Town's goalless home draw with Bristol Rovers 10 days ago.

Fellow central defender Trotman, on loan from Preston for a similar period, gives manager Lee Clark further options at the back.

Australia international Heffernan joined from Central Coast Mariners this week and could be involved pending international clearance and teenager Eccleston will challenge for a place after arriving on a month's loan from Liverpool.

Clark has no new injury or suspension problems and must decide whether to hand one or all his new recruits their debuts.

Defender Joe Skarz has joined Shrewsbury on loan until the end of the season.
