Preston boss Darren Ferguson will be without captain Callum Davidson for the home clash with Ipswich.
The Scotland international sustained a head injury in Tuesday's 1-0 win at Peterborough.
Ferguson, who is searching hard for new signings, said: "He was knocked out so it's a mandatory 10 days that he will have to miss."
On-loan Manchester United striker Danny Welbeck is in line to make his home debut after playing 89 minutes at London Road in midweek.
Neil Mellor scored the winning goal against Posh and impressed in a wide position on the right flank which he looks set to retain.
But former Cardiff winger Paul Parry remains sidelined with a knee problem while midfielder Barry Nicholson (broken leg) is a long-term absentee.
Ipswich captain Jon Walters will again be missing.
Walters missed the 1-1 draw with West Brom in midweek after he injured his hamstring against Southampton last weekend and the forward is expected to be out for at least another fortnight.
Jon Stead returned from suspension to start against Albion on Tuesday night but endured a frustrating night and may struggle to keep his place in the starting XI.
Stern John and Tamas Priskin are both options to come in alongside Pablo Counago if Keane wants to make a change but goalkeepers Richard Wright and Brian Murphy remain sidelined.
Wright has stepped up his comeback from a knee injury and could be available by March while Murphy could be available to make his debut in the next few weeks after injuring his ankle.
Keane's side have lost just once in the last 15 league games and will be hopeful of a result at Deepdale.
