One of the biggest storylines of the 2017-18 campaign has been Kevin De Bruyne’s emergence as one of the finest players in the world. The Belgian has taken his game to extraordinary levels, becoming the standout player in a squad that includes an array of talent in all positions. It really shouldn’t come as much of a surprise to read of Paris Saint-Germain’s reported interest in De Bruyne, who has provided eight assists in all competitions so far. It’s too early to inscribe the 26-year-old’s name on the PFA Player of the Year award but it’ll take a heroic effort for any one player to claim the prize should Manchester City go on to win the Premier League title."He is one of the best players in the world," Gabriel Jesus said after De Bruyne stole the show in Man City’s 7-2 win over Stoke earlier in the month, per Sky Sports."His quality is outstanding as an individual out on the pitch, but it's the way that he makes that work for the whole team, and connects with the other players, that makes him special."Any player who becomes the focal point of a Pep Guardiola side is doing well. But it’s not just on the pitch where De Bruyne is winning.

De Bruyne made a classy gesture after Wolves win

Guardiola probably had no intentions of playing De Bruyne in Tuesday’s Carabao Cup match against Wolves but, with the score at 0-0 and full-time approaching, he felt compelled to bring him on.

De Bruyne wasn’t able to make a difference in the remaining minutes, nor did he help Man City score in extra-time, but he did net their first penalty as Guardiola’s side won the shootout 4-1.

And De Bruyne proved his class after the match by asking Wolves’ 19-year-old midfielder Connor Ronan for his shirt.

Watch the incident at the 13:45 mark in the video below. It seems that De Bruyne had already agreed to give Ronan his shirt - but the youngster looked taken aback when the Belgium international wanted his in return.

Just look at Ronan’s face when he sees De Bruyne wants his shirt - it’s something else.

A brilliant gesture from a brilliant player.
