What a night for Tottenham.Having drawn away at the Santiago Bernabeu two weeks ago, Tottenham welcomed Real Madrid to Wembley looking to take a massive step towards qualification to the knock-out rounds of the Champions League. And Mauricio Pochettino's side put in a magnificent performance as they gained their passage through to the last 16 with a 3-1 victory over the Spanish giants.Dele Alli put his side in front, as he tapped in a brilliant Kieran Trippier cross in the 27th minute. He doubled his side's lead when he found the net again in the 56th minute, and Christian Eriksen added another goal to build a remarkable three goal lead for the London outfit.Cristiano Ronaldo pulled one back with 10 minutes to go, but Tottenham held on to record a memorable night at Wembley.Alli was superb in the game, shrugging off criticism from his own fans in recent weeks to give his Tottenham one of the best wins in their history. And after putting the reigning Champions League winners to the sword, Alli showed he has an elite mentality in his post match interview.Speaking to Visasport, Alli said: "I'm disappointed I could not get the hat-trick to be honest."I had a very easy chance at the end from a great ball in from Kieran (Trippier)."But more importantly the team got the win today, that was the main thing."It is fantastic to get two goals and I've been looking forward to coming back into the Champions League after my ban, but it was a great result."Fair play to Alli. Some players would absolutely milk the fact they just scored two goals against Real Madrid at Wembley. But the Englishman played down his performance, claiming he should have even scored more, and credited his team instead. Great stuff. You can watch the full interview here:
