Cesc Fabregas recently revealed that he was the one who threw the pizza at Sir Alex Ferguson during the ‘Battle of the Buffet’ in 2004.It took 13 years but the Spaniard finally admitted to being the culprit on Sky’s A League of Their Own.“All of a sudden, I heard noises and I thought what’s happening? So I go out with my slice of pizza and I saw Sol Campbell, Rio Ferdinand, Martin Keown... everyone pushing each other,” Fabregas said.“I was like, I want to get in, but I don’t know how to and I threw... peeew... just threw it. Once I saw it was hitting, like, who it was hitting, which I didn’t mean…”It’s a brilliant tale, even if it did come after Manchester United snapped Arsenal’s 49-match unbeaten run with a 2-0 win at Old Trafford. It’s worth pointing out that Fabregas was just 17-years-old at the time. Clearly, he wasn’t afraid of getting into the thick of things. The 30-year-old, who now plays for Chelsea following a return to Barcelona, is certainly one of those players you’d never wish to play against. He may appear relatively innocent, but Fabregas’ attitude can switch into that of a rather whiny player in an instant.

Kilbane: 'Fabregas was a total a***'

Former Republic of Ireland and Everton midfielder Kelvin Kilbane has delivered an anecdote that adds weight to that notion.

Speaking on Off The Ball on Thursday, Kilbane was in a discussion about players acting with little grace on the field.

He brought up a story of what happened when Fabregas played against Huddersfield in the League Cup in 2011.

“Cesc Fabregas was a total a***,” Kilbane said.

“He was an absolute a*** on the pitch, Fabregas. So disrespectful. Just mouth.

What Fabregas said to Huddersfield's Joey Gudjonsson

“The one thing that stuck in my mind - I was playing at Huddersfield [in 2011], you know, I was on loan at ‘little’ Huddersfield, and we went to The Emirates in the League Cup.

“We were drawing 1-1, and Fabregas comes onto the pitch, and he was going up against Joey Gudjonsson. Do you remember Joey Gudjonsson? He was a midfielder who played at Bolton, Charlton as well I think.

“He goes up to Joey Gudjonsson and he says, 'You're s***, your team-mates are s***’ and to be fair to Fabregas he scored a penalty and I was like, 'Cesc, this is Huddersfield, what are you doing, like Jesus Christ.’

“Do it to Paul Scholes or Roy Keane, not Joey Gudjonsson at Huddersfield. You’re better than that.”

Sounds like Fabregas has ruffled some feathers throughout his career.
