Swindon leapfrogged Millwall into fifth in Coca-Cola League One with a 4-2 victory over Oldham.
The game was goalless until the final minute of the first half when Billy Paynter fired the ball into the top-left corner from 20 yards. Moments later the Robins were awarded a penalty when Joe Jacobson fouled Charlie Austin and Paynter sent the ball into the bottom corner.
Austin got Swindon's third shortly after the break with a 20-yard volley before Daniel Ward's cool shot made it four. The Latics pulled goals back through Joe Colbeck, with a little over 10 minutes to go, and Jason Price in the last minute but the damage had already been done.
Bristol Rovers missed the opportunity to reduce the gap on the play-off places as they went down to a 1-0 home defeat to Walsall.
The Saddlers took the lead through Richard Taundry in the 32nd minute when he sent Alex Nicholls' pass into the bottom-left corner.
The hosts had the chance to draw level with a little under 10 minutes to go when a penalty was awarded for Jamie Vincent's foul on Jo Kuffour.
Jeff Hughes took the left-footed spot kick but it was blocked by Clayton Ince.
Tranmere got a vital three points as they beat fellow relegation battlers Gillingham 1-0. Ian Thomas-Moore got the goal for Tranmere from close range.
Brighton and Huddersfield shared a 0-0 draw.
