It's been a horrible few years for Michael Schumacher and Formula One fans.
Ever since the great had his tragic skiing accident back in December of 2013, updates on his health and condition have been few and far between.
There have been a few reports suggesting he's on the mend, but most of them have been heavily denied by his family or his legal team.
What we do now is the medical bills are ramping up for the German, something which sadly cannot be avoided due to the magnitude of the accident.
Schumacher was skiing when he suffered a horrific fall, causing a traumatic brain injury which left him in a medically induced coma for around six months.
He was in that condition until June of 2016, when his family agreed to move him home to help his recovery.
Since then, there have been very few updates, but the most recent one is not good news for Schumacher.
Schumacher's family are hoping for a 'medical miracle' to help save the German from his brain injury, which is not the update Formula 1 fans were hoping for.
According to German magazine Brunte, the Ferrari legend's loved ones are "sending signals from his distant world".
From the same report, a close friend to the Schumacher family has revealed that his toned physique may be aiding him and the fact he's doing as well as he can be given the circumstances.
The source later added that: "Corinna and the children hope to this day that a medical miracle happens."
The 48-year-old is currently staying in a state of the art hospital near his home, which reportedly costs a staggering £115k-a-week.
Schumacher currently has 15 physicians monitoring him on a 24-hour basis.
Despite the upsetting new update, there is still hope that Schumacher can make a recovery from his accident, something that every F1 fan will be praying for.
