It's the fight that is on the lips of every boxing fan.

Last week, English promoter Eddie Hearn confirmed that talks have begun regarding a heavyweight super clash between Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder.

Both are unbeaten knockout machines and are widely regarded as the two finest active fighters in the division. Sadly for Tyson Fury, he has to regain his licence to be put back into that bracket.

In their last fights, both Goliaths were victorious as they kept their belts.

Joshua earned a much more difficult triumph over Carlos Takam in Cardiff, winning by TKO in the tenth, while Wilder stormed to victory, destroying Bermane Stiverne in the first with a barrage of destructive blows.

Hearn has already stated that he feels Joshua will be put to the test by Wilder, who's record currently stands at 38-0.

HEARN REVEALS SOMETHING VERY EXCITING

A lot of the speculation surrounding the bout is where it is to be hosted and Joshua's promoter has revealed something potentially very exciting about the issue.

“We talked about it doing it in March or April (2018)," he said to IFL TV when asked about when the fight will take place. "

We talked about maybe both of them boxing on the same card in March or April – then doing it in the summer. We talked about doing it outdoors in the UK.

"We talked about doing it in Vegas. They want it in Vegas. We’d like it in the UK. We talked about doing two fights. One in Vegas or one in the UK, or visa versa. So everything is in play.”

POTENTIALLY TWO FIGHTS BEING ARRANGED

It's exciting that the prospect of two bouts is already being discussed.

What it could also mean is that if both fighters win one of the first two, there will no doubt be a third to decide the overall winner.

However, Fury's impending return to the four-cornered ring could have a huge bearing on whether the two meet on more than one occasion.

The 'Gypsy King' has stated his intention to fight both of them, particularly Joshua, with the two Brits engaged in a very entertaining war of words on social media.

What is certain is, it is a very exciting time for heavyweight boxing, harking back to the halcyon days of Muhammd Ali and George Foreman.
