Derby are still trying to sign Gilles Sunu or James Vaughan on loan for the rest of the season.
With Steve Davies sidelined with a hamstring injury and still around three weeks away from a return, boss Nigel Clough would like to add one of the young forwards to his squad.
"Nothing has changed with the two players. We are still chasing them and would like to add one of the two to our squad," said Clough.
He added: "We will pursue it again this week. With Steve Davies out, we are a bit light in the striking department."
The Rams have been talking to Arsenal about Sunu, a 18-year-old French player who can operate up front or on the right.
Vaughan, 21, was on loan at Pride Park from Everton earlier this season but played just two games before he suffered a knee injury.
