Conor McGregor sure knows how to make the headlines, but this week it's been for all the wrong reasons. The Notorious One causes a stir when attended close friend Charlie Ward's first-round TKO victory over John Redmond at Bellator 187.With the event taking place in Dublin, McGregor cheered on Ward from ringside but was not listed as an official cornerman.Despite this, McGregor hopped over the cage at the conclusion of the bout to celebrate with Ward, or so he thought.Referee Marc Goddard quickly attempted to remove McGregor from the fray, a move that made the UFC lightweight champion irate.McGregor also appeared to take a swipe at the official and he sent out a tweet on Monday explaining his side of the story, which he quickly deleted."Bloke KO’d on floor bout a minute straight and ref trying to say fight’s not over, Conor. That’s when I lost it. F*** yous all."It was hardly a minute straight, but Mystic Mac said it how he saw it regardless.

Mike Mazzulli, president of the ABC, who was the lead regulator at Bellator event, said after the bout that he would talk with the UFC and boxing commissions in a bid to punish McGregor as doing so personally was out of his jurisdiction.

However, Mazzulli has now told ultra-reliable MMA journalist Ariel Helwani that the UFC will be pulling McGregor from their event on December 30 - UFC 219 - as a result of his actions.

Now, McGregor was rumoured to be facing interim UFC lightweight champion Tony Ferguson at the event, but it had not been announced.

Fans flooded Twitter after the news broke claiming that Mazzulli was either lying, or the UFC had simply told him what he wanted to hear.

The truth may be that McGregor was never going to be fighting at UFC 219 and this is an easy way for the UFC to fend off some bad press.

Either way, not having McGregor compete is a huge blow to the company's end of year show and the longer he goes without defending a title in the UFC, the more impatient his fans grow.
