WWE Superstar Cesaro probably suffered the worst injury in the company this year, and although it happened several months back, it's still affecting him in his on-screen work today.

Cesaro is currently part of a tag team known as The Bar, in which he has aligned himself with former enemy Sheamus to become one of the most dominant duos in WWE today. At one point The Bar found themselves defending their RAW Tag Team Titles against the reunited Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose at the WWE's No Mercy pay-per-view (PPV) this past September.

During the match Dean Ambrose catapulted Cesaro into a ring post and the Swiss Superman hit his mouth so hard that he lost two of his teeth and was bleeding profusely from his mouth. The Bar would go on to lose their titles to Rollins and Ambrose to add insult to injury.

Fast-forward several weeks later and Cesaro is still suffering the affects of the injury he sustained at No Mercy. He has been subjected to wearing a mouthguard at all times during his matches, most likely to protect his repaired teeth.

There has been some speculation as to why Cesaro has been wearing the mouthguard even when he needs to cut a promo. Some believe that Vince McMahon finds it funny and it's simply a backstage joke.

Per a report from Wrestling Observer Radio's Dave Meltzer, this is not the case. Cesaro is wearing the mouthguard for the complete opposite reason - WWE doesn't want fans seeing Cesaro's braces. It's debatable as to whether or not this is important, but the mouthguard has been making Cesaro's promos sound absolutely atrocious.

Aside from his mouthguard debacle, Cesaro and Sheamus recently reclaimed the RAW Tag Team Titles from Rollins and Ambrose on an episode of Monday Night RAW thanks to a distraction from The New Day.

While The Shield will take on The New Day this weekend at Survivor Series, The Bar will go head-to-head with SmackDown Live Tag Team Champions The Usos. Survivor Series' theme this year is based around a RAW vs. SmackDown rivalry.

What are your thoughts on WWE making Cesaro wear a mouthguard to cover up his braces? Are WWE making too big a deal out of this? And does the mouthguard make it difficult for fans to take Cesaro as seriously as they once did? Have YOUR say in the comments section below, and the fourth episode of GiveMeSport’s WWE podcast is here!
