WWE made a big announcement this week on Monday Night Raw when they revealed Triple H would be joining Team Raw in their traditional 5-on-5 Survivor Series elimination match against Team SmackDown, replacing Jason Jordan.
Jordan picked up a storyline injury during his match with Bray Wyatt on Raw, resulting in Kurt Angle saying he was unable to compete at Survivor Series at the weekend. Jordan begged Angle to not remove him from the Survivor Series match, which the Raw general manager couldn't bring himself to do.
In this moment of hesitation, The Game returned to WWE TV, his first appearance since WrestleMania 33, and made the announcement for him, revealing he would be taking Jordan's place in the match, before pedigree Jordan and leaving the ring.
This makes the men's Survivor Series match very interesting to watch, as we'll now have some very interesting match ups. Survivor Series will now have Kurt Angle, Braun Strowman, Finn Bálor, Samoa Joe, and Triple H vs. Shane McMahon, Randy Orton, Bobby Roode, Shinsuke Nakamura, and John Cena.
There are two members of Team SmackDown which Triple H has never faced in the ring before, Bobby Roode and Shinsuke Nakamura. During an interview with NBC Sports, while he is looking forward to locking up with both of them, wrestling with Nakamura intrigues him the most.
The Game said: "Whenever I’m looking at talent, even when I’m developing NXT guys, I can’t help but look at it from a performer’s point of view.
"I did an interview a few years ago when Nakamura was first coming in and they asked me if there were guys I would like to wrestle and I was like yeah, I’d like to wrestle him.
"Am I planning to do it? No, but it would be awesome if I could just fantasy book it in my head. Now I’m going to be able to actually get in the ring with him."
The Game vs The King of Strong Style will certainly be an interesting matchup, as it is one we have never seen before, so WWE fans will be keeping their fingers crossed in hope that it takes place during the traditional 5-on-5 elimination match at Survivor Series.
