Most of the time, it seems as though Lewis Hamilton would rather he raced in his own team, rather than with a team-mate.
In fairness, Hamilton rarely needs help and is capable of winning World Championships by himself providing he has a good enough car.
And his relationship with his teammates aren’t always as they should be - just ask Nico Rosberg.
Rosberg and Hamilton clashed on numerous occasions during their four seasons at Mercedes with the German going out on top after winning the 2016 world title.
To say their relationship was turbulant would be an understatement.
What did Hamilton learn from Rosberg?
But did Hamilton learn anything from his nemesis during their time together?
That question was put to him by CNN and his reply, per Marca, was rather abrupt.
“With Rosberg, I learned zero," he said.
After 78 races together, Hamilton didn’t learn anything from Rosberg?
Has he learned from any of his teammates?
Of course, Rosberg isn’t the only driver to have shared a pit with Hamilton. Fernando Alonso, Heikki Kovalainen, Jenson Button Valtteri Bottas have all had the pleasure of racing alongside Hamilton.
So has he learned anything from any of them?
"Let's say that Alonso was the only companion I learned from, so I never felt that I was staying with something else, I just improved and unlocked my own abilities,” he said.
So, it seems as though it was only Hamilton’s first teammate in F1 to have taught him something in the sport. From that moment onwards, he learned everything himself.
Hamilton knows it will be Bottas partnering him once again next season after the Finn signed a new contract. Let's hope he learn at least one thing from him in the future.
