Grimsby manager Neil Woods will be without Peter Sweeney for the local derby against Lincoln.

The Town midfielder picked up his 10th booking of the season at Notts County on Wednesday and will sit out the games against the Imps and Macclesfield on Tuesday night.

Woods may include veteran striker Lee Peacock in his starting XI after he missed the clash with the Magpies with an ankle problem.

On-loan Hull midfielder Jamie Devitt should retain a starting berth after scoring on his debut against Dave Kevan's side, but Adrian Forbes remains sidelined as he continues his rehabilitation from a leg injury.

Should the Mariners fail to beat Chris Sutton's side it would give Grimsby the indignity of setting the worst winless run in the club's history.

The record currently stands at 22 league matches which they equalled with the 1-1 draw in midweek.

Moses Swaibu returns from suspension for injury-hit Lincoln but fellow centre-half Nathan Baker is a major doubt.

Swaibu served a one-match ban against Accrington in midweek following his red card in the home defeat to Rotherham and looks likely to come straight back into the side at the expense of Baker.

The on-loan Aston Villa defender was forced off with an ankle injury before half-time against Stanley. Midfielder Stefan Oakes (hamstring) also had to retire injured from the same match.

Striker Paul Connor is nursing a hamstring problem and is struggling to regain fitness while defender Paul Green, returning from a spell on the sidelines with a groin strain, pulled out of a reserve game on Wednesday with a tight hamstring.

Boss Chris Sutton has warned his players not to take relegation rivals Grimsby lightly and said: "They've been unfortunate not to get results. I think they will get results eventually, we've just got to try and make sure it doesn't happen against us."
