AJ Styles' excellent run in the WWE took another interesting turn last week when The Phenomenal One pulled out with a surprising win over Jinder Mahal to become the new WWE Champion in Manchester, England.

A Survivor Series match between The Maharaja and Brock Lesnar had already been advertised, and it looked as if that was set in stone following on from Mahal's challenge, along with Paul Heyman's brilliant promo aimed at Mahal and The Singh Brothers.

CHANGE OF PLANS

Instead, WWE drastically switched their plans and had Styles dethrone Mahal and now takes his place at Survivor Series this Sunday to battle Monday Night RAW's Universal Champion, with many calling Styles' match against The Beast Incarnate a dream match in WWE.

However, WWE is already looking at the long-term plans for both men and by the sounds of things, Styles could be featured in a huge match of his own at WrestleMania 34.

It's common knowledge by now that - unless WWE pulls another massive U-turn - Lesnar will be battling, and potentially dropping, the Universal Championship to Roman Reigns in New Orleans, following on from their WrestleMania 31 match where Seth Rollins performed the heist of the century.

According to Cageside Seats, WWE is already planning Styles' match for WrestleMania 34 against Shinsuke Nakamura.

DREAM MATCH

While it's already happened in an incredible match at Wrestle Kingdom 10, WWE fans are yet to see the spectacle inside of a WWE ring and we've already seen some hints dropped that it could be in the works.

The reaction from fans spoke volumes at Money in the Bank when Styles and The King of Strong Styles stood face to face inside of an empty ring, while they also teased the fans recently during the WWE's European Tour.

Closing out the show in Italy, Styles asked the fans whether they'd want to see Nakamura battle Styles at WrestleMania 34. Obviously, the answer was yes and the reaction from the fans said it all.

If that's indeed the plan WWE is going ahead with, then it'll be interesting to see how the booking plays out and whether or not Styles will still be the WWE Champion in New Orleans, or perhaps WWE could go ahead with the match without a championship on the line.

Regardless of that, the match will guarantee to steal the show if it goes or ahead, with or without a title being defended.
