Bristol City have been boosted by the news that Cole Skuse should be fit for the game against West Brom.

The Robins medical staff had feared that the midfielder had suffered a fractured forearm during a collision in Tuesday night's 1-1 draw with Leicester.

However, following X-rays on Wednesday, club physio Nick Dawes told the club's official website: "Cole has got the all-clear which is great news.

"He's still quite sore but hopefully he'll be available for selection for Sunday's game."

Boss Gary Johnson will be without striker Alvaro Saborio who has returned to his native Costa Rica following an unsuccessful loan spell at the club.

Jamie McAllister (calf) and Jamal Campbell-Ryce (calf) remain sidelined.

Roman Bednar has a good chance of being fit for the televised clash.

A back injury meant the forward failed a late fitness test prior to Tuesday`s 1-1 draw at Cardiff but he was still named among the substitutes despite being unable to take part. Roberto Di Matteo will give him as long as possible to prove his fitness.

Midfielder Youssouf Mulumbu will definitely be available for the trip to Ashton Gate as he returns from a one-match ban but winger Jerome Thomas remains in the midst of his extended five-match ban.

Giles Barnes featured for Albion`s reserves in midweek as he continues his recovery from injury but he is not ready for first-team action and will play no part.

Yet the winger is just one of a host of absentees for Di Matteo, who was without the services of nine first-team players at the Cardiff City Stadium.

Gonzalo Jara (metatarsal), Marek Cech (hamstring), Ishmael Miller (ankle), Abdoulaye Meite (ankle), and James Morrison (heel) all remain sidelined.
