There was nothing to separate Real Madrid and Atletico as they played out a goalless draw in the derby.Zinedine Zidane insisted after the game that Los Blancos remain in the title race, but it was ultimately a frustrating 90 minutes for both sides.Tied on 24, the Spanish capital's two clubs now trail pacesetters Barcelona by 10 points. As the scoreline would suggest, Cristiano Ronaldo and Antoine Griezmann continued their goalless runs. For the Rojiblancos star, it's now eight games without finding the back of the net, while four-time Ballon d'Or winner CR7 has scored just once in La Liga all season. To make matters worse for Real, they had to survive the entire second half at the Wanda Metropolitano without captain Sergio Ramos after the defender suffered a broken nose. The Spanish international found himself on the wrong end of Lucas Hernandez's boot and while it was clearly an accident, it looked like a truly nasty injury.Take a look at the incident below:

Zidane was unable to give a timeframe for the centre-back's return, but Ramos himself gave some indication of just how gruesome the injury was by taking to Instagram to post a grim photo of his bloodied nose.

The extent of Ramos' injury

The 31-year-old wrote:

"I would bleed a thousand times for this badge and this shirt.
Thanks for your support. I'll be back in no time. #HalaMadrid."

Nobody can deny Ramos' commitment to the champions' cause.

However, he'll be more aware than anyone that their season isn't going to plan.

Not only are they a long way behind Barca in the league, they also risk finishing second in Champions League Group H.

Despite widespread reports of a rift between Ramos and Ronaldo, it will do Zidane's men no favours whatsoever if they are without their defensive talisman for their forthcoming games against APOEL Nicosia and Malaga.

It's unclear as yet whether he'll require surgery or whether he'll be playing with a protective mask.
