Bantams stun leaders: Match Review

Published Add your comment

Late goals from Robbie Threlfall and Gareth Evans gave Peter Taylor his first win as Bradford boss in a stunning 3-1 defeat of leaders Rochdale.

The Bantams opened the scoring in the 10th minute when defender Matthew Clarke planted a firm shot through a melee of bodies into the net.

Gary Jones had a gilt-edged chance to level straight away when Chris Dagnall sent him through on goal, but the Dale skipper fired wide with just Matt Glennon to beat.

The home side grew stronger as the half wore on and levelled matters on the stroke of half-time when Chris O'Grady crossed for Dagnall to fire home at the near post.

Dale went close after the break through O'Grady and Dagnall, but with 10 minutes remaining Threlfall's free-kick from 20 yards hit the underside of the crossbar and went into the net off Fielding.

And with three minutes remaining, Evans crashed a thunderbolt into the top corner to seal a famous win for the Yorkshiremen.
