Chris Morgan will return for Sheffield United as Kevin Blackwell`s injury-hit side take on Plymouth.

The Blades captain has been struggling with a rib injury, but the postponement of last weekend's tie at Peterborough has given him the opportunity to return in a better condition than he might have done.

Marcel Seip will be unable to partner him in defence, though, with the Plymouth man unable to play owing to the terms of his loan deal.

Boss Blackwell also has fitness doubts over James Harper, Ryan France and Kyle Bartley, but Toni Kallio, Nick Montgomery, Lee Williamson and Jamie Ward could have all recovered from the knocks they were carrying last time out.

Derek Geary has been ruled out for the rest of the season with an ankle problem, while leading goalscorer Darius Henderson begins a three-match suspension.

Plymouth head coach Paul Mariner is waiting on the fitness of centre-half Reda Johnson.

Benin international Johnson suffered an injury to the top of his leg during a training session on Thursday and it remains to be seen whether he will be able to feature against the Blades.

Mariner explained: "Reda got, hopefully, a mild strain. We took him out as soon as he felt something."

Defender Gary Sawyer also faces a race to be fit after he suffered a knee injury in training, but David McNamee is back in contention after overcoming a groin problem.

Craig Noone is set to keep his starting spot on the wing after he marked his return to the starting XI by scoring in the 1-1 home draw with Leicester.
