Darlington boss Steve Staunton will be without several player this weekend.

Defender Richie Byrne, a recent free signing following his release from Inverness, was forced out of Saturday's defeat at Bradford early in the second half due to a hamstring problem.

He subsequently missed the midweek defeat against Port Vale so Alan White is set to continue alongside Ian Miller.

Staunton has no other new injury or suspension problems but will still be without defender Mark Bower (ankle), midfielder Chris Lumsdon (knee) and veteran striker Noel Whelan (hamstring).

However, Andrew Milne has joined the club on an emergency loan deal from Leeds until the end of the season and the defender could be handed his debut.

Midfielder Ross Chisholm made his first appearance for the club in the 3-1 home loss to Vale on Tuesday and could earn a starting berth as the Quakers seek a rare win.

Torquay manager Paul Buckle is waiting on the fitness of winger Wayne Carlisle.

Carlisle was ruled out of Tuesday's goalless draw against Dagenham with a knee problem he picked up in last week's win over Accrington.

Irish midfielder Eunan O'Kane was recalled in Carlisle's absence against the Daggers and he is the most likely candidate to get the shirt once again.

Target man Scott Rendell (arm) is back in training and nearing a return but is still short of match practice so will not be expected to feature.

On-loan goalkeeper Michael Poke (groin) is also close to a return but Scott Bevan is likely to keep his place after helping United build a four-match unbeaten run.
