Roman Reigns is one of the WWE’s top superstars and as a result of his popularity he often works many live events as well as on the flagship programmes such as RAW and SmackDown.

But the star wrestler will not be performing over the weekend during live WWE events and is not scheduled to appear on the next instalment over RAW, according to insider Dave Meltzer.

At this stage it’s unclear why exactly Reigns is out of action with plenty of speculation on the matter. The next episode of Monday Night RAW will take place at the Dunkin Donuts Center in Providence, Rhode Island on December 18 but Reigns is not expected to be present.

The good news for any fans of Reigns is that whatever the issue is, it’s not anticipated to see him miss any big WWE shows moving forward. Royal Rumble is on Sunday, January 28 and Reigns is still available for that pay-per-view at this stage.

It remains to be seen how this plays but as recently as last week Reigns was talking himself up in WWE. WWE’s current Intercontinental Champion fancies himself as the most talented wrestler in the business.

“Every day of the week. This is the top of the mountain here point blank, period. I’m going to bust my ass and do my thing. And it was his yard. It’s mine now,” Reigns told the WWE Network.

“I’m the best performer, in-ring, in the world right now,” Reigns claimed. “You can go to my matches and my pay-per-views over the last three years and you can say I’m an idiot or you can be like, ‘man, he has a point.’ Do you know what I mean? I didn’t come here for any other reason.”

One of Reigns’ issues, though, has been his work on the microphone which has certainly held him back from essentially being liked by the majority of WWE fans.
