It's looking very unlikely that anyone will catch Manchester City in the title race, but that hasn't stopped Manchester United from going about their business every week.Jose Mourinho's men were 14 points behind City heading into their trip to West Brom and they've now closed the gap to 11 thanks to a 2-1 win.Romelu Lukaku opened the scoring with a lovely flicked header just before the half hour mark, with Jesse Lingard making it two-nil eight minutes later.Gareth Barry then gave the Baggies a lifeline in the 77th minute but United parked the bus to secure all three points. It was an emotional return for Lukaku, who spent the 2012/13 season on loan at West Brom and owes the club a lot for his development as a striker.Out of respect to his former employers, the Belgian didn't celebrate his goal and instead just looked at the crowd. He was involved in another stand-out moment during the game, when teammate Marcus Rashford was fouled by Ahmed Hegazi and argued with the Egyptian. In the video below, Rashford squares up to Hegazi before Lingard comes rushing over and pushes the centre-back. Lukaku then acts as peacemaker by dragging the pair away. And United fans loved it - not only Lingard having Rashford's back as he always does, but Lukaku stepping in like an older brother would. Check it out.

...LINGARD BACKS RASHFORD...

...LUKAKU DRAGS THEM BOTH AWAY

Lukaku had a good game at the Hawthorns yet he came under fire from Sky Sports' pundits afterwards for not celebrating his goal.

Jamie Redknapp was particularly confused. He said: "When he gets the right delivery, he's unstoppable. It's a great header, just turns his head, nods it into the net.

"I don't get the non-celebration, I'll never understand that. Whether he's been unhappy with the criticism he's been getting, it's irrelevant.

"You are paid big money to affect games for Manchester United. Not celebrating a goal? I'd give anything to go and score goals again.

"And he's there and he doesn't want to celebrate it, I'll never get it. I don't know if it was because he was on-loan there, I don't know these days."
