Foxes defender set for scan

Leicester defender Alex Bruce is set for a scan to determine the extent of the stomach strain he suffered against Cardiff.

The 25-year-old, on loan from Championship rivals Ipswich until the end of the season, lasted just 35 minutes on his first start for the Foxes since moving to the Walkers Stadium at the end of January.

Leicester assistant manager Craig Shakespeare said: "Alex has impressed everyone with his personality and enthusiasm since he arrived. If anyone deserved some luck it was Alex but he didn't get it. He has shown great maturity to be patient for his chance."

Shakespeare added: "Until he got injured he looked very composed and assured. He said he felt something go in his lower abductors and he was assessed on Sunday. He will need a scan before we can assess how bad the injury is.

"He was distraught when he came off the pitch but I put my arm round him and told him that I was convinced he still had a big part to play for us this season."
