DeMar DeRozan (29/4/5) went 9-of-20 shooting to lead the Raptors to the home victory. Toronto outscored Philadelphia 54-36 in the second and third quarters combined to pull ahead. Joel Embiid (14/8/2) and Ben Simmons (10/5/6) surprisingly combined for just 24 points with eight turnovers in the loss for the Sixers.
Celtics (27-9) 117; Bulls (10-22) 92
It only took Kyrie Irving (25/3/7) 28 minutes to lead the Celtics in the scoring column. Going 9-of-15 from the floor and 5-for-7 from three-point range, Irving helped Boston outscore Chicago 38-18 in the third quarter to open the game up. Bobby Portis (17/8/1) led the Bulls in scoring in the loss.
Hornets (12-21) 111; Bucks (17-14) 106
Playing without Giannis Antetokounmpo (knee) proved to be costly, as Khris Middleton (31/5/4) and Eric Bledsoe (16/7/6) couldn’t carry the Bucks to victory. The Hornets outscored Milwaukee 30-21 in the fourth quarter to record the comeback. Dwight Howard (21/16/2) dominated the inside and led Charlotte in scoring and rebounding.
Pacers (19-14) 123; Nets (12-20) 119
It took overtime, but the Pacers were able to come back from a 16-point halftime deficit to record the home win. Victor Oladipo (38/4/6) and Myles Turner (23/9/1) led the Pacers in scoring, combining for 61 points on 21-of-33 shooting. Spencer Dinwiddie (26/1/8) and DeMarre Carroll (20/13/4) had outstanding individual showings for the Nets in the loss.
Wizards (18-15) 130; Magic (11-23) 103
Despite a dominant performance by Elfrid Payton (30/5/10), the Magic were outmatched in this one. The Wizards got out to a 72-48 lead by halftime and held on for the blowout win. Washington shot 16-for-30 (53.3 percent) from beyond the arc and the Wizards bench scored 65 points.
Hawks (8-25) 112; Mavericks (9-25) 107
Dennis Schroder (33/3/7) went 13-of-22 shooting to lead the Hawks to the victory while teammate Ersan Ilyasova (21/7/2) went 7-of-9 from the floor. Harrison Barnes (22/4/3) led the Mavs in the scoring column in the loss. The teams combined for 60 assists (31 for Dallas and 29 for Atlanta) and just 25 turnovers (10 for Dallas and 15 for Atlanta) on the night.
Pelicans (17-16) 109; Heat (17-16) 94
Surprisingly, Anthony Davis (17/6/3) and DeMarcus Cousins (16/7/8) combined for just 33 points on 10-of-18 shooting in the New Orleans win. Ian Clark (19/2/1) led the Pelicans in scoring off the bench. Justise Winslow (knee) and Dion Waiters (ankle) missed the game for Miami, which allowed Tyler Johnson (20/3/1) to continue his strong recent play in the defeat.
Grizzlies (10-23) 115; Clippers (13-19) 112
Austin Rivers (38/3/2) and Lou Williams (36/2/2) combined for an absurd 74 points on 24-for-47 shooting in the loss. No other Clipper attempted double-digit shots. Tyreke Evans (30/7/11) and Marc Gasol (17/15/4) had solid individual games to help lead Memphis to a much-needed victory.
Thunder (18-15) 103; Jazz (15-19) 89
Russell Westbrook (27/10/10) had a triple-double while Paul George (26/5/1) and Carmelo Anthony (16/6/3) combined for 41 more points in the important road win. Although Donovan Mitchell (29/5/1) had a dominant shooting performance for the Jazz, going 12-of-16, Utah was unable to get anything going offensively, as indicated by their 6-for-26 (23.1 percent) showing from deep.
Nuggets (18-15) 96; Warriors (26-7) 81
Although Kevin Durant (18/6/1), Klay Thompson (15/5/4) and Draymond Green (10/5/6) were healthy, none of the three was able to break out offensively, as the trio went just 16-for-48 (33.3 percent) shooting on the night. Gary Harris (19/0/3) and Nikola Jokic (18/9/4) led the way for the Nuggets in the upset win. The Nuggets snapped Golden State's 11-game win streak.
Timberwolves (20-13) 115; Suns (12-23) 106
Jimmy Butler (32/6/3) guided Minnesota to the win by going 10-of-19 shooting and 12-of-13 from the free throw line. Teammate Karl-Anthony Towns (16/14/1) had a double-double. TJ Warren (24/9/2) led the Suns in the scoring column. The T-Wolves went 25-of-29 from the free throw line, but Phoenix shot just 15-for-24.
Trail Blazers (17-16) 95; Lakers (11-20) 92
The Lakers were shorthanded since Brandon Ingram (quad) sat out. Kyle Kuzma (18/7/3) led LA in scoring while Lonzo Ball (10/8/11) was two rebounds short of a triple-double in the narrow loss. Moe Harkless (22/3/6) and Shabazz Napier (21/3/5) were the two unlikely names to lead the Blazers without Damian Lillard (hamstring).
Spurs (23-11) 108; Kings (11-21) 99
The Spurs played without Kawhi Leonard (rest), but it didn’t matter. LaMarcus Aldridge (20/6/10) led San Antonio in scoring and Pau Gasol (14/11/10) had a surprising triple-double in the win. Buddy Hield (24/8/1) and Willie Cauley-Stein (22/11/3) combined for 46 points in the home loss for the Kings.
