Jonas Olsson, Roman Bednar and Steven Reid will all be missing for West Brom as Preston come to town looking to derail their promotion charge.
Centre-back Olsson (calf) was forced off at half-time in Tuesday`s 2-0 win at Swansea and is also a doubt for next Wednesday`s home clash against midlands neighbours Coventry.
Striker Bednar (thigh) and versatile loanee Reid (groin) missed the trip to the Liberty Stadium and will again sit out against North End, with the former likely to be out for at least a further fortnight.
Winger Jerome Thomas has watched Albion`s last two games from the sidelines due to a hamstring problem and he also continues to be a doubt for the weekend, although he is progressing well and could make it.
Fellow wide man Andy Slory was also absent in south Wales due to family reasons but he is likely to be back in contention.
Chile international Gonzalo Jara remains sidelined with the broken metatarsal that is likely to prevent him from playing again this season.
Preston boss Darren Ferguson will assess the fitness of defender Youl Mawene ahead of the trip.
The French centre-back sustained a groin injury in last weekend's 3-2 home win over Nottingham Forest and subsequently missed the 2-2 draw against Sheffield Wednesday in midweek.
Liam Chilvers deputised for Mawene against the Owls and may do so again but Ferguson has no other major concerns.
Midfielder Barry Nicholson is still recovering from a long-term injury and North End travel to the Midlands unbeaten in five league matches.
They have won only two of them, drawing three, but on-loan Manchester United United midfielder Matt James, 18, confidently declared: "We'll go to West Brom without fear and play our own game."
