When you mention the Royal Rumble, Kane is often the first superstar you instantly think of.

That's because The Big Red Machine has dominated in the battle royal every time he's stepped foot in the ring, and it took quite a while until Roman Reigns entered and broke his record for most eliminations in a single match.

ROYAL RUMBLE

This year, though, Kane won't have the opportunity to extend any sort of Royal Rumble record.

Instead, he'll be featured in the Universal Championship match where he competes alongside Braun Strowman as the two behemoths challenge a fellow behemoth in Brock Lesnar in a triple threat match.

While some will argue that he's taking the spot of a younger superstar, others will be pleased at the prospect if his latest comments are anything to go by.

Speaking with the New York Post, Kane - who is running for mayor in Knox County, Tennessee - dropped a hint that this could be his last Rumble appearance, or at least his last main event slot.

According to Wrestling Inc, he said: "I have to take advantage of everyone that comes along.

"This might be the last one. I don't know. I certainly think the match at Royal Rumble is going to be special for me."

Kane's career has already been winding down, falling into a similar bracket to that of The Big Show and Mark Henry, so maybe fans will appreciate his potential last appearance at the Royal Rumble event.

HINT

The night could be another opportunity for The Monster Among Men to impress as well, and Kane spoke highly of Strowman and the future he can have in the business too.

In the same interview, he added: "The company has done a tremendous job with him, you know positioning him where he needs to be and he gets it and that can be a rarity often. … I think he has a really bright future ahead of him.

"I think he is going to be a guy that going forth for many years is going to be at the top or near the top of WWE.

"If you look at our roster, it seems like 20 years ago we had a lot of big guys, not as big as him, but a lot of big guys. Nowadays not so much, I think our guys are better athletes now but they are not as big."
